Posted this in the draft thread, but figured I'd give it its own. Niners get three as anticipated, a 4th and two 7ths. I figured the speculation over the 3rd rounder was a reach.

Third-round picks for Mario Williams, Brandon Carr, and Cortland Finnegan, looks like. I'd think Dashon Goldson would net the same next year.

Exactly it doesn't matter who you lost if you signed more than you lost. You have to lose more than you sign to get comp picks is the way I understand it. Then they take into account who you lost.

(There is no explanation why Adam Snyder, who signed with the Arizona Cardinals, was not mentioned.) The one free agent the 49ers signed last year that qualifies under the formula was Mario Manningham.

Well maybe they forgot to add Snyder to the list but 4 players minus 1 addition would add up to 3 comp picks? Maybe...
