NFL awards 33 compensatory picks to 13 teams for 2016 draft

Lions are awarded the (95th)pick in 3rd round
Also a 6th round (210th) pick.

Suh was what most thought it would be. First comp pick awarded.

Fairley was a 6th round choice.

Fairley was shown to be about the 3rd -5th pick of the 5th round most the off season. He was the third pick of the 6th given out. So that unknown formula was just that this year for the predictors.

Another wierd deal was none of the comp picks awarded were 7th round choices.

All articles you read say just the NFL office knows the true formula. Money seems to be the biggest factor. Post season accolades and playing time are factors also they say.

Look at the picks on here and you see the difference in money amounts start once the picks for the 4th round start. Tramon Williams made one million more than Culliver but Green Bay got a higher pick.

On that page there's a tab for 2017 projected comp picks already. Here I thought some of us were absolute nerds about this football shit. Of course those are all in monetary order as of now.

I hope the 95th pick pans out or Gabe Wright exceeds expectations this year.

Mini-Millen spent the #13 selection on Fairley and got 4 inconsistent seasons and a 6th round pick in return for him. So glad that dude is gone. Thank you Martha

That 95th pick is tied to Suhs legacy line. Gabe panning out or failing IMO has nothing to do with that pick. (Unless you feel that trade happened to replace Suh?) which Gabe will never do.

I'd love to start seeing some 6th round and later picks consistently pan out. So that one for Fairley would be nice, cause as you stated it was four somewhat wasted years.

Well I think Mayhew did that PLUS blowing the 4th and 5th rounder on Ngata cause he had egg on his face. Trying to play hardball with one of the best defender's in the league.
