My first reaction was "that is ridiculous". But then I dug around on some stats. Sumitomo did a study of conveyor belts and noted that the belt speed is variable, and can operate as fast as 1.78m per second (350 feet per minute for us South of the Border).

I have never seen airport crew operate one at that speed, but holy crap, if the belt can be turned up that high, it would only take a few seconds to shoot gear up into the plane. Maybe the injured person has a case :noidea:
You just did more journalism work than anybody at the Toronto Star has done in decades. Well done.

Also saw Craig Button called Kessel "pathetic" last night.

I don't want to pile on here, but his career shooting percentage was around 12% until the beginning of last season; it's been just a shade below 9% since. He's on pace for 22 goals this season, which would be a decline of 3 goals from the season before when he was playing on one the most historically bad teams over a 4 month stretch that professional sports has ever seen.

Hate to say it, but this may be new normal for Phil. If that's the case, and assuming the Pens make the playoffs in the next 15 months, the Leafs may have won this trade big-time.

Keon was my first favorite hockey player. :thumb:

I hear Keon almost hung up when Shanahan called him because he asked him if he needed his ducts cleaned.

What's astonishing is that each one of those trades looks better as every day passes. If the Leafs can draft an NHLer with whatever pick they wind up getting from Pittsburgh they'll have done well.
