Interesting how a League (and fanbase) loves to chant 1967, but complains about the business decisions and strategies used by a team with zero championships in 53 (and counting) years. SMH

Cant wait until Nic Robertson scores the Cup-winning goal in October and the asterisk is added because "something something unfair they got to dress their second round pick in the playoffs".

And yes, they will win a lot of games 8-7.


But more seriously, will be interested to see what happens when this starts. Will teams be playing like its October (poor D play, lots of goals, Sabres actually win ) or will it be like May (tight, no penalties, Marchand licking people) . I like the Leafs chances if the former, if the latter, well, they will have a 12.5% chance at Lafreniere.

I view the whole situation as the league shooting itself in the dick - actively stifling teams trying to improve players and bring up the quality of play in the league as a whole because some teams have cheap owners who don't want to pay to open their facilities in the off-season. It's so incredibly stupid.

Far as this season goes, the Leafs' defence is still probably very bad and Freddy is a complete question mark - if he sucks in game 1 does Keefe have the balls to switch to Jack? Or is Freddy given the "he's our starter, we're sticking with him" vote of confidence and then bombs again? Because facing a team with a good defence like CBJ, and possibly a great goalie too if Elvis reverts back to that stretch where he had 80 shutouts in a row or whatever means 8-7 games might not be possible.
