Honestly, fuck Sportsnet for giving this fucking asshat a platform.

It's terrifying to think that this guy was running an NHL club 8 months ago.

I'm gobsmacked that a guy with the handle 'Bloody Brian Burke' would go off on Brian Burke.

:D

His public personality honestly seems more obstinate than anyone I've ever met. And if you know the people that I know, that is saying a lot

So Brian says to blow him if you think his comments were stupid. Comments that started with "the Leafs are overpaying their seventh-best player" and came around to him thinking a team whose seventh-best player is William Nylander isn't a contender.

Okay then.

I'm gobsmacked that a guy with the handle 'Bloody Brian Burke' would go off on Brian Burke.

I might need a name change. This was much more palatable when he was out west and not on my TV and radio every second hour.

He also strikes me as the kind of guy who is constantly and expressly telling you how open to new ideas he is.

To me, it seems he wants people to be open to the idea that he played a big part in the Leafs current success.

I'm open to the idea of forgetting that with Leivo gone the only two players left on the team that he drafted between 2009-2011 are Sparks and Kadri, and that those three are the only players he drafted in that period who are on NHL clubs today. I'm open to that if he's open to going away forever.

At the very least, put someone with common sense on the air with him and watch him shoot himself in the foot repeatedly by trying to bully his way out of facts. That's probably bothering me more than anything - people are just putting him on and letting him talk as if he's some hockey deity with a supreme knowledge whom all others are inferior to. Motherfucker you signed Mike Komisarek to a $4.5 m/5 yr deal with a salary cap 2/3's of what it is today, who the fuck are you to talk about overpaid players lol

I think of Bill Veeck when people talk about top players getting paid like it's a disaster.

"It isn’t the high price of stars that is expensive; it’s the high price of mediocrity."
