So, from the highlights I've viewed because last night was waayyy past my bedtime and I had to get up even earlier to commute in the snow, the Sharks had a lead, started going after Kadri because they still think they need some sort of revenge over him giving Thornton's wack ass beard a tug last year, lost the plot and the Leafs won handily.

Kadri needs to find some more beards to tug at.

Basically, yes.

Andersen let in a brutal goal on a horrible misplay behind the net (first SJS goal). Sharks just looked a step slower than the Leafs all night. Several "dump the puck up the ice to an open area, and have a Leaf out skate the Shark for the loose puck" kind of plays.Sharks only played well in the second. All 4 lines played well so I wont single anyone out.

Oh, and the SJS announcers are worse then the Bruins tv duo, if that is possible. Homerism at its finest

On to the Duck Pond (or whatever they call it now)

Karlsson's taken his "getting made a fool of by Maple Leafs" shtick with him out west (although to be fair, Kapanen is the fastest person on earth).

Last weekend there was a lot of noise after the Leafs started Andy against NJ instead of against the tougher-on-paper and division rival Bruins, who proceeded to pretend Sparks wasn't even a goalie.

This week, given pretty much the same situation with the sequence flipped (tough Sharks last night, easier Ducks tonight) and with the added caveat of Andy being a former Duck, Babs went and did the opposite.

Really wonder if he either took last week's heat to heart or is just being a dick to Andersen and not letting him play his former team.

Back to Nylander for a moment.

Best path forward is to sign him to a contract that is tradeable. No need to trade him before Dec 1, they have tons of cap space to fit him in this year. Load up for this year, see how the playoffs go, then trade him at the draft next June.

There's a possibility Nylander wants a 1 year deal so he can have some say over any potential trade next year.

The fact the Leafs can't give him an NTC means any idea of him giving up money to help the club while still being at risk of being traded is pretty much out the window.

I dont understand the intricacies of the trade rules in play here
