That's pretty brutal.

The Oilers are pretty much locked into a 29th place finish after last night. It's gonna kind of piss me off if they get Ekblad. Kid has talent.

I don't see how you can sell bringing Eakins back as coach to the fans after this disaster of a season (and that means eating 3 years of that contract). Who signs a coach who has never coached before in the NHL to a four year contract?

From the Oilers games I've seen so far it looks like Eakins has no idea how to actually utilize that talent that he has on his team. The Oilers should be about team defense, speed and counter rushes but instead they're about... I'm really not sure to be honest. A 4 year contract for a coach with 0 NHL experience is stupid. I feel really bad for the Oilers they have one of the most storied & proud franchises in the history of the NHL and the fans are great too. It's an absolute disgrace that the fans have to sit through these shit show seasons. Their entire management and coaching staff needs to go asap IMO.

Well, even if they don't win, they're going to get likely Ekblad or Reinhart (depending on who's available). I actually think the Sabres need more help up front than on the backend, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the Oil get Ekblad.
