The B part lolI mean, who amongst us hasn't had a good night partying/carousing?!? I'm just glad a) I'm not famous and b) my carousing days were before everyone had a video camera via their smart phone.
so, to the Hawks trade a player to edmonton for future considerations to entice edm to coerce him not to retire?Part of me wants Keith to come back as I think his best days are certainly long gone - However, the Hawks are hit with a sizable cap recapture penalty if he does indeed retire (more than what the league fined the Hawks for the Aldrich coverup).
Ah man... tough choice. Fuck the Oilers or Fuck the Hawks?Part of me wants Keith to come back as I think his best days are certainly long gone - However, the Hawks are hit with a sizable cap recapture penalty if he does indeed retire (more than what the league fined the Hawks for the Aldrich coverup).
Holland : "hope you like Edmonton, we have great Restaurants, where you can be just like Connor any get and side dish you want"
I honestly don’t think most fans will care if they sign Kane outside of Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Buffalo or SJ and three of those are for reasons that have nothing to do with his personal life.David Staples is certainly correct about one thing in this piece, Edmonton is not a woke coastal city.
Many in the Edmonton fanbase were also upset about the Oilers wooing Kane, but Edmonton isn’t a woke coastal city. It’s a diverse city, with a good share of oil patch workers and white collar government workers. It’s a city that votes left in some elections, right in other elections. It’s far more like a major city in a Red Republican State than any kind of progressive bastion in California or the northeast States, where woke-ism erupted at elite colleges about seven years ago.
By and large, Kane was welcomed by fans here in less purist and judgemental city like Edmonton, but I doubt that would have been the case last winter in New York, Boston, Toronto, Vancouver, Seattle or with the Californian teams. All hell would have erupted if he had signed in those places and it still might.
Will the crooked path that brought Evander Kane to the Oilers last winter now bring him back?

That seems like a fox news narrative.
To me, woke means you are aware of some of the ways people have treated each other like shit, and realize that it is not acceptable anymore.
I dunno, Dreger said the 7 year contract for Edmonton starts at $7 mil/yr and for other teams at $8 mil/yr.Staples is a hack, pure and simple. Nobody (except for maybe Edmonton) is lining up to give Kane a multi-year deal. Wow, he managed to keep his nose clean for a few months and potted a few goals, good for him. Still doesn't change the fact that he's done several terrible things in recent years and it's a real gamble to bring this guy into your dressing room.

He deserves it. Especially getting that far with that D and G

Holland: “Jay, let’s do lunch. What’s your favourite spot?”Appears to be a done deal...
