I think it was a whatever trade. Bear might be a useable 3rd pair guy, nice insurance if nothing else, and Foegele is a 5th liner you can draw in to eat a few minutes. Nobody's really hurting or benefiting from it performance-wise nor likely will anybody.

The difference is Edmonton is paying Foegele $2.75m for another two seasons and Carolina can walk away from Bear next month.

Said it before but holy shit if Edmonton even somewhat wisely used all that cap space last summer they'd actually be a real force rather than getting dragged by the big two.

/OK Hyman's been great (as was expected) and admittedly Keith has been pretty solid in the playoffs (not that it excuses Holland overpaying for a guy nobody wanted and eating his cap while dealing with maybe the worst GM in the league).

My point is the inferiority complex that Spector and all the Edmonton fan boys have whenever there is criticism levelled their way. He's going out of his way to trash Bear (like most of Edmonton did after that series loss to the Jets).

I don't think we need a petition, my friend, he still has a year left on his contract. I think Koskinen has signed a deal in Europe, so unless he retires or Holland finds a trade partner, Smitty will be back.
