Johnson to have shoulder surgery

No real surprise they are shutting him down, get well JJ.

I have to believe he's played his last game in Columbus. I think they'll try to move him at the draft and failing that, there is no way they will protect him in any potential expansion draft. Not with Jones and Murray plus the organization loves Prout, Savard and Goloubef. Tyutin and JJ will be odd men out.
I don't think either Tyutin or Johnson are tradeable nor would they be taken in an expansion draft (and that draft is more likely for 2017 than this summer). Shock trades have happened but if I'm calling taking Fleury's deal on a risk I don't even know how you would describe taking JJ or Tyutin.

I think the Jackets might consider buying Johnson out but unless I'm mistaken they can't do so if he's on the IR?

If they can, his buyout number isn't actually too bad. They'll have $1.666 mil on the cap from 2018-20 but only about $1m for the first two years. Tyutin's isn't as attractive though.

Jared Boll now has half the number of goals on the season as Oliver Bjorkstrand.

Same number of points, too.

Cool story 43 - On a related note, the Canucks provided tickets for approximately 20 Syrian families that recently arrived in Canada to attend this past Saturday night's game against the Blues. Nice touch by the Canucks.

Jared Boll got a game misconduct and when it was announced in the Arena, there was a smattering of applause.

Knowledgeable fan base in Columbus.

They're growing up so fast *sniff*

On another note; with 1:30 left, Mason had a 45 save shutout going. We are currently going to OT with Mason having saved 45 of 47.

Poor kid does not react well to adversity in this building.

Gonna be some salty fans who left early, judging by that lower bowl. Never leave early people...you'll miss 3 on 3.

Mason played his ass off, just got pummeled in the last minute and a half.

And yes, the battle of former employers is very one-sided. Bob is 5-1 against the Flyers.

Leafs chances of a bottom two finish grow by 5%.

Thanks, Mason :suds:

Leafs are only two points behind the Oil with four games in hand. I don't think the Leafs are finishing 30th.

/Heck, they might pass the Flames before season end.
