We have a lot of Canadians here. 2 of the new teachers at my wife's school are from Canadia. And one has a last name suspiciously like a Former Blue Jacket, possibly Mrs former Blue Jacket. Wife officially meets her on Tuesday

Be sure to bring the customary goblet of maple syrup as is tradition. She'll bring the pineapple pizza.

Good guy that Patty. Realizing you are not alone is a big step in moving toward healing.

Helping people not feel alone is a noble pursuit.

It's refreshing not having a reactionary putz as GM. Jarmo would have already traded him at 50% retained to Seattle for a third.

Hope GMDW and Evason can talk Patty into giving it a go to start the year and let him play his way into a trade.

Because:
Patty - Moneyhands - Johnny
Marchenko - Fantilli - Johnson
Chinacough - Sillinger - Voronkov
Jenner - Kuraly - Literally anyone but Olivier. Like Brindley, Dumbass or Danforth.

Looks pretty promising to me.

Interesting. Wonder who the locker room problem was, and if they are still there. It stands to reason it isn't Fantilli or Johnson (They both stayed with him before getting their own places) or Johnny (who picked up the charity stuff when Patty went out. Probably not Zach, because I can't see him saying anything at all, let alone anything to bother someone. Gudbranson seems to be loved by everyone.

We preach that hockey is for everyone, but is it really? The actions of the Rangers and Provorov show that there is a lot going on behind the closed doors that make acceptance in hockey not for everyone.

So, Patrik Laine has already given an interview saying he is excited to go to Montreal, a place where hockey is the top sport and fans live for their team. He said he played in Canada before and liked it because of the passion for hockey. And, naturally the people who are still crying about garages all these years later are all pissed off. Like they expected him to say "Now I have to fucking learn french. And what the fuck is Poutine? I hope I get at least two weeks before these asshole writers start shitting on me. Columbus is best!"

Ironically, I think once he does fall out of favo(u)r there (and let's face it, he will) the same quote insinuating that Winnipeg is in any way similar to Montreal will have the Hab fans going off on him.

Portzline feeling well enough to be a Twatwaffle again:

Let's see:
Seth Jones demanded an out, and Jarmo fleeced the fuck out of Bowman to do it.
Nick Foligno was on an expiring deal and TO gave up too much to say no.
Atkinson was broken and the Jackets knew it. They basically swapped for a shorter contract on another guy who was ultimately broken.
Nyquist was injured, expiring and was being forced down the depth chart. They got what they could.

AND Waddell said he tried to trade for Elvis when he was in Carolina and the rumor is he offered Slavin. Even a GM as short sighted as Jarmo wouldn't have said no if you had the chance to move out a guy your entire leadership group was complaining about and instead trade the leadership group.

Also odd how the "Leadership" group didn't include NHLPA rep and future Captain Boone Jenner.

I guess his still being here doesn't really fit Twatwaffle's revisionism. Either that, or he forgot Jenner when he made the story up.

The timeline just doesn't add up either lmao

I think it was maybe after the 19-20 season (believe it was 20-21 he meant)
Fine, let's go 20-21. Foligno was traded during 20-21.

Nyquist signed there after the 20-21 season.
Werenski signed long term in summer 2021 despite having no reason to do so if he didn't want to.
In 20-21 Korpi still got more starts and was coming off the bubble domination in TO. I guess it's conceivable that Elvis was complaining about not being #1 but that was only his second season and it was virtually a 1A/1B situation so kinda doubt that? And he basically took the role over immediately after as Korpi crashed down to earth so why would he still be complaining?

That's Steve Simmons Hot Dog Story territory there.
