We have to get back to the business of hockey here soon, and the Jackets suddenly find themselves 3m under the cap floor. Not sure if the league will show mercy and waive it until we figure out what to do, but not sure that's right either. The cap is the cap and they already seem to be selectively enforcing it as it is.

After seeing Monahan and Hayes together at Johnny and Matthew's funeral, I think we need to bring Kevin here. Not for anything on-ice, just so they can support each other.

Acknowledgement from Donnie Dubs. JVR and Phil the Thrill are the two biggest names out there. I would also not be opposed to having Giordano here to mentor Jiricek and Mateychuk.

Jackets could also do a real funny thing and get Johansen.

I feel for this guy. Hope he understands the city of Columbus loved Johnny and we will all be here for him as well. I still wouldn't mind the Jackets finding a way to get Hayes here so they can be there for each other.

And from a purely hockey standpoint, I hope they develop KJ into Johnny 2.0.


Waddell said they are still talking with some guys, may throw out a PTO, but they are going to be patient to fill the last remaining forward spot. Feels like they are still talking with Phil, but I expect once cuts start happening he is going to pounce on the waiver wire. Some team somewhere is going to have to make a tough choice so hopefully we can capitalize. One thing I do not expect is taking on a bad contract to gain assets. Just not necessary.
