Myers got tossed, yet the Cole hit was the much more dangerous play.

Another five and game that will lead to no supplemental discipline.

At least they got the right guy, well one of them

That was a textbook Flames PP the Jackets just exhibited.

holy hell, I sat down at a hot chocolate fest restaurant this evening and checked the score. Down 4-1.
by the time my chocolate was delivered, it was tied. wild ride.

i put a couple of bucks on Canucks -1.5, so that blows.
figured they would take that last loss personally, but i guess they were pleased enough with the road trip.

He hasn't been the same since his dad passed away, has had a massively unlucky year and every fucknut with a Twitter account blames him for everything the Jackets are going through.

Heal yourself, Patty. The team loves you and will be here when you get back. Hopefully the Next GM and coach will put a good system around you.

Maybe we can leave Jarmo in Seattle. No reason not to now.

Part of me feels like the only reason they haven't fired Vincent and Jarmo is because they don't want to disrupt their likely replacements, Chris Clark and Trent Vogelhuber in Cleveland, until after the season.

But by then, there might not be any happy players left.

Watching the Jackets over the last couple of games (against the Flames and Canucks), the team is not that far away from contending in my opinion. The biggest issue for me is tightening up on the defensive end, but they have a young, fast team that has had horrible luck with injuries. Glad to hear that Fantilli appears to have escaped serious injury.

They should be but can't get there. I think D should be set if 2 of Bean, Boqvist or Provorov go. Mateychuk could have been in the lineup this year, and Ceulemans is just about there. Jiricek is every bit an NHL player and trending toward star. I deal D pairs would be:

Werenski - Jiricek
Severson - Mateychuk
Gubberson - Bean or Boqvist (Prefer Bean)

With Ceulemans and Peeke available as needed.

Up front, they need a legit center who can make space and feed pucks for Johnny. Obviously, I would love them to pursue a guy who has done it before (Lindholm). But anyone in that mold would be great. Fantilli will be that guy someday, just not yet. Having a Lindholm type to teach him would be priceless. Problem is, teams that have that guy usually don't part with them.

Beyond that, a solid middle six guy who can play the PP and kill penalties with equal ability would be great. And the cynic in me knows that guy's name is Oliver Bjorkstrand. Culture is trash, so I think that Jenner has to go. Obviously Olivier has no value. Get another high end forward this year in the draft and I think a big step forward can be made. Just imagine:

Laine - Lindholm - Gaudreau
Johnson - Fantilli - Bjorkstrand
Marchenko - Voronkov - Chinakhov
Texier - Sillinger - Kuraly

I don't see how you get Lindholm now or Bjorkstrand ever without losing Sillinger or one of the Russians.

A veteran goalie who can play 30 or so games would round it out. Tarasov isn't it.

A coach who doesn't go home at the end of the second would go a long way too.

Of course the difference being Jiricek is every bit an NHL player and Kerby Rychel was lucky to stick around in the AHL. Literally nothing the club could have done would have turned him into an NHL player. The only similarity here is that both players were sent to Cleveland.

Also doubt that Jiricek's daddy is lurking in the wings criticizing every step of the way like Kerby's did as if his shit skating stride and lazy ass attitude were the team's fault.
