Who wants to trade their disappointing #1 or #2 C for him? Anyone? Beuller?

HE'S ELITE

I bet he looks good in red and yellow. He was born in Ontario but he looks like a good western Canadian boy.

ELITE

But he is a former Oshawa General (we have a few of them), so if you throw in Olivier, I think we can work something out :thumb:

I have to wait to see if the trade with Calgary works out first.

Blue Jackets are starting the Fathers' trip tonight, and I just learned that Jake Bean's dad is there. Jake's dad is the President of the Calgary Flames.

He's gonna see a LOT of Boone Jenner.

Elvis might be leaving the building...

Bob Stauffer and Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli spoke about the goaltending situation in Edmonton on Stauffer’s Oilers Now show. Specifically speaking about the prospect of adding Elvis Merzlikins in a trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Stauffer dropped an interesting nugget, saying the players would be in favor of bringing the netminder in.

Both me delved into the potential acquisition of Merzlikins and Stauffer pointed out an intriguing aspect of the situation, highlighting that Merzlikins’ agent, Gerry Johansson, operates out of Edmonton, suggesting a possible connection for the trade. Additionally, Stauffer noted that both the Columbus Blue Jackets and Merzlikins are open to exploring a change of scenery.

Maybe before Elvis started a run of 921 sv % over the last 9 games there was an appetite to consider a move. Nothing Edmonton has to trade is worth losing him.

We will send them Martin though

And they think everyone's best players are dying to go there.

This summer, it looked rough for Elvis. He was lashing out on social media, couldn't stop a beach ball in pre-season and didn't seem to mesh with Backstrom right away. It looked like a classic needs a change of scenery situation. But it's looking like it's coming together now. He's really knuckled down and adjusted his game from "I'm gonna live on reflexes and panic" to "Listen to the Finn and calm the fuck down". He is definitely not the reason we haven't been winning.

So with Anze Kopitar and the Kings in Columbus, is this the Doug MacLean is an idiot bobblehead night game?

That’s the spirit - even if he drafted Kopitar he would have traded him for some enigmatic Russian and a magic bean before signing him to a second contract.

They interviewed him in between periods and he said he got the call at 5:30 that he was in due to Laine being sick. He said he was at home watching the Grinch with his kids.

5:30 on a game day and he wasn't at the arena?

It was 3-0 going in period 3 for the Jackets - It's now 3-3

We're not sure if we're to blame Elvis for not stopping every shot, or if it's more Laine's fault for going to a concert last night but being too sick to play today as if either of those things have anything to do with each other.

All we do know is we need more Danforths and Oliviers.

The highlight of this game has been seeing two of my JV players sitting in the front row right outside the faceoff circle in the zone the Jackets are shooting in the first and third. Their facial expressions are cracking me up.

It's high school hockey night. The whole team is there. But one of our big donors has those seats and I guess gave them to our kids. I didn't goo because I didn't feel like walking that much.
