What jumps out when watching Seth Jones is his skating. He is a tall guy with a long stride, and a very upright posture. It might come up less because he’s a defenseman, but guys who skate like Jones often get unfairly labeled as “lazy” because it never looks like they are skating very hard.

Isn't that why he's here? Because Johansen was "lazy"?

Tyutin has never been a shot blocker. He's been a puck mover. He hasn't been expected to score, instead he has usually been Jack Johnson's defensive conscience. Hell, he made Nikita Nikitin look like an NHL'er for the better part of two years.

If Tyutin played for Dallas, Washington or (God help me) LA, he'd be a solid contributor.



Torts' system has made a bunch of decent players look like shit. You don't build a defense around Fedor Tyutin. You shore up a defense with Fedor Tyutin.
