Trying to temper my excitement but the guy could really be something. 3 goals off the rookie scoring lead despite playing 20 fewer games.

Plus, he's adorable. Here he is gushing over meeting Ovechkin who knew his name.

Runaway Cy Young favorite, you’d think.

it was for about a day. maybe half a day.
the some congress people started throwing poop at each other or something.

I saw a story about nearby waterways filled with dead fish and even a guy who had some foxes that basically collapsed and died on him. Here's a chilling report:

On a related note, every year we have at least one 18-wheeler tip over as it goes down the Malahat and dump its load into Goldstream here on Vancouver Island. Yet the environmentalists don't want to build a build over the Saanich inlet :noidea:

my goodness. that is terrible. how is this not a major story?
I mean, they DID arrest a reporter. Mike D has been doing his damndest to keep a lid on it.

Remember, this is the state that had a river catch on fire 13 times before they decided to do something about it and was a major factor in the creation of the EPA. We loves us some deregulation, and rumors abound that maintenance crews were told not to fix the very problem that caused the derailment and there were half as many staff on that day as used to be required because the railroads have lobbied to have regulations relaxed. While making record profits.

Safety costs money. Deregulation costs lives. We're not going to know the full scale of this for decades.

A good thread on it.

Columbus is in a separate watershed from there, but Wheeling is directly downriver. And the Jet Stream is carrying the air directly between Pittsburgh and Erie Pa.

Elvis just left a puck behind the net for Gudbranson, who mishandled it while it was sitting still. In the process of recovering the now moving puck, Gudbranson poked Elvis' skate out from under him from behind.

It would be a much better world if we could take the remaining 3 years at 4m we're going to pay him and give that to Gavrikov so he can stay.
I wonder what it feels like to lose a better overall player to a contract wasted on a guy that is going to diminish terribly every ye.....
"Looks at the Canucks signings and trades the last few years"

Ah, I forgot about that for a second

Gudbranson has cost us Bjorkstrand and Gavrikov so far.

I don't understand that signing at all
I could see it for half (money and term) since he didn't look awful under Sutter and at the time Brad Larsen had Jarmo convinced he had a magic defensive structure.

And he was never meant to be anything beyond a 6th D man.
