Structure defensively is way better. No Cane was getting open so that's a plus. Canes apparently found a gear there at the end. Burns did a masterful job getting into everyone's heads and made them run around. Boone needs to be better than that.

Tarasov looking much calmer than I have seen him looking in the past. Still loses nearside post sometimes but not as bad.

Honestly, Jackets look better than I thought they would. Lot to build on. Keeping the Canes at bay during their home opener while juggling lines after losing your top winger for almost 2 periods is pretty decent.

Burns is so far into the Jackets heads.

It’s only one game against this seasons anointed Cup champs. I’m sure those numbers will improve against rubbish teams like Toronto and Tampa.

Heck of an effort, but ultimately for naught.

Jackets beat writer went off on Twitter and inferred that if it was Crosby, McDavid or Ovechkin the league lets it stand. He then asked the coach after the game and Lars said "It's a good call. He didn't have control. What more can I say?"

A lot of Jackets fans want the rule changed so you don't call back goals on "great individual efforts". Lol. Just what the rule needs - more room for interperetation.
