The only reason I'm posting this here is because Kneel is on a PTO with Columbus (hopefully not for much longer). Takes no accountability for showing up in Calgary out of shape and sulking when he didn't get to play with Johnny. What a putz.

Jackets released 3 from PTOs today but that fuckstick stays. I hope we release him from his PTO with the cannon.

The full result of masking tape on the locker day:

No major surprises beyond sending Nolan Lalonde back to Junior even though he signed his ELC today. Thought he might go to AHL and pool with Greaves and Tarasov. He looked very strong, but looks like they are putting Pavel Cajan there - he was also strong.

Bayreuther, Bjork and Knazko all had long uphill battles to make a suddenly crowded blueline. Hope they all have good seasons in the A.

Notable: Blankeburg, Jiricek and Christiansen are all still here.

there are very specific rules about sending young'uns to the AHL.

basically, if they are eligible for CHL, you can't send them to AHL (unless they come directly from Europe)
there may be a few more wrinkles, but that's the gist of it.

Pavel Cajan played for the Kitchener Rangers the last 2 years and he's going to Cleveland (it seems so far). So I wonder what the rules difference is. They are the tear apart in age, just one is from Canada and one is Czech. And Lalonde signed an ELC this morning. Cajan doesn't have a contract yet.

I doesn't understand. More rules than I need to be bothered with.

Noa is certainly a unique name - I wonder if the genesis of that name came earlier this summer as in "Noa way I'm re-signing in Calgary"

If we can get Arizona to bite on Bean, Boqvist, Bemstrom and Foudy for Chychrun we'd be in a real good place.

What a pass

This kind of patience and vision is simply something we have not had for a long time. Maybe not ever. Nash was elite, but he was also a bull in a china shop.

That line scored 30 seconds in and generated about a dozen chances. I am so looking forward to this year.

We're gonna have a crowded blue line in 2024. Realistically could lose Bean, Boqvist and maybe Peeke and come out of it better.

Roster is currently at 26, with Joonah Luoto and Joonas Korpisalo going to IR. Leaves one more cut with Sillinger, Johnson, Jiricek, Chinakhov and Blankenburg all waivers exempt.

I feel like the last will be Jiricek because with the current D corps, I don't know if they can give him 18 minutes a night (like he'd get in Cleveland) and you wouldn't want him sitting games out here and there.

Here is where the roster stands:
Gaudreau - Jenner - Laine
Chinakhov - Roslovic - Voracek (China scored 6 goals in 4 preseason games with Jake feeding him)
Johnson - Sillinger - Foudy/Nyquist (Johnson or Sillinger could easily slide into 1C spot in place of Jenner, IMO)
Danforth - Kuraly - Robinson/Olivier

Werenski - Peeke
Gavrikov - Gudbranson
Bean - Boqvist
Blankenburg

Merzlikins
Tarasov

I see us trying to trade Bean and Boqvist with Bemstrom and Nyquist. Jiricek, Christiansen and Svozil could all play D in the NHL this year. Marchenko could easily play too.
