Yeah I just happened to look at his stats and couldn’t believe he only scored one goal. Ton of assists, so I guess he is Getzlaf or Henrik Sedin?

Thought prior he scored more goals than he did but never was much of one.

I'd like to see Jake take a few more shots, but he is making so many beautiful passes it's hard to get mad about it.

Calgary is outshooting the Jackets 28 to 9 not even halfway into the second period.

Jackets fans on Reddit and Twitter: "WHY THE REFS DO THIS MAKE US LOSE?"

"Of course they won't overturn it because we're Columbus and the refs like to fuck us"

And also the blade wasn't above the crossbar.

My favorite comment in the Reddit thread so far:

Fucking irritating. Aren't they listening to the fans in the stands? Shoot it!!!

As an opposing coach, the only thing I love more than dump and chase zone entries is players who act like the puck is a hand grenade because of people yelling.

Pretty good slash and he left right away.

The bright side is this takes his name out of the trade rumours. We must protect the Texy beast at all costs. He's starting to put it together. With China and Marchenko next year he could break out.

8 minutes into the game and there have been 4 goals scored on 7 total shots. Tied at 2.

This is gonna be a long night.

Potential for up to 2 feet of snow here on Thursday.

Also, 8 inches of snow in Dallas area is going to be a disaster.

Some things I found interesting.
1) He actually talked to Portzline, the guy who wrote an entire story about "checking the police blotter" when Dubinsky got sent home from Vegas.
2) He acknowledged that he had "too much fun" in Vegas, broke a team rule and that's why he was sent home. That was pretty much the end of his relationship with the Jackets. The injury became a convenient excuse for both sides because he hated Torts enough that he started to hate hockey itself.
3) He hated Torts in New York, and was happy to get out for a fresh start. He hated that Torts came here. Which is interesting because from my point of view, Dubi was Torts' favorite. I believed I called him Torts' lapdog.
4) He loved Richards and was pissed at other players for not playing hard enough for him.
5) He was pissed that Wennberg and Dubois were getting 1st and 2nd line minutes, and felt neither one earned it. Which proves he is as stupid as it seemed. He also seems to think Torts was giving them ice time to fuck with him, even though Torts was up-front about their roles and his. I'm with Torts on this one.

Both guys did some good stuff for the team, and both did their own brand of damage. Suffice it to say I am glad they are both gone. Time to move on. As slow as it's currently going.

Trey Fix-Wolansky made his NHL debut last night. His parents hopped a plane from Edmonton to DC to be there to see it. He's a five foot nothing 7th round pick who had a massive injury to his knee last year and thought the dream died on the operating table. But he got up here and scored.

Dad's intensely Canadian reaction:

Also worth noting that Laine has matched his meager point total from last year in 21 fewer games and is currently on a 9p in 4g streak. He is also the first ever Blue Jacket to have three consecutive multi goal games.

Some people still want to trade him because he "looks lazy".

Voracek, Elvis and Gavrikov need to stay here forever.

And apparently Larsen really likes to walk like an Egyptian.
