I will watch it later but it doesnt matter if he tells us the whole reason or not

I think it boils down to

1 - This team has NO direction from the top so why waste his time for money that he can get elsewhere
2 - He knows that EP40 is no longer coachable and does not want to be stuck with that.

my nephew blames him for EP40 play now. I do not believe that to be true.

I mean, Petey was a pretty solid player before so there might be something to it. Not all coaches' fault as player does have responsibility. But not liking a boss can affect performance. Maybe JT was a flaming asshole and Tocc did nothing or laughed it off.

One thing is for sure, Petey HAS to recognize how it looks and bounce back no matter who the coach is.

I do not think it comes down to skill for Petey. I think its preparation and conditioning. Both that he failed on this last off season (injury or not as it sounds like he did not fully report his injury to the Canucks who I think could have helped him train differently). I want to agree that he would learn from it but do we want to take chance on that with a NTC on a $11.6M cap hit.

I do not know and glad I am not the one that makes that decision.

I think on point 2, Tocchet knew since day one when he joined the Canucks that this was possibly the case about Petey ... that Petey is a potential coach killer. He is afterall Operation Slapshot buddies with Travis Green and there has always been word on Canucks twitter and reddit that Green feels EP40s effort/performance in his final year coaching the Canucks cost him his job. Green and Tocchet had similar systems.

I dont think Tocchets system this season prevented him from scoring. Petey fell behind the 8 ball showing up to camp without a proper training program in the summer behind him. I (choose to lol) believe the knee issue was the cause of that. One thing is for sure, with all the public emphasis now on putting together an offseason training program for Petey, if they keep him ... the pressure will be huge on him to perform to start next season. Especially when many will see him a main cause of all of this seasons turmoil ... if he doesnt figure it out he's well on his way to killing this current formulation of the franchise
