Many young women that I have worked with and coached are in this video. My club's U19 girls team featured heavily. Plus my "boss" John and my home rink (Orange seats).

Ebony and Essence played for me in summer hockey the last couple years. Amazing players, and just really, really good people. Parents too. Love being around them.

He only got that right because Rick Dudley traded 1st overall pick for legit nothing - the 3rd-worst team in the league trading 1 overall for the right to swap picks the next season is so worthless the Panthers should've been contracted right there and then.

That they let that guy then trade 1st overall AGAIN a year later is just insane.

They had Luongo, they could've picked Staal and had a Staal-Nash top line with a Vezina-calibre goalie.

Also could've used the additional 1st they got from NY for Bure in 02 for literally anything other than what they used it for. These guys could've had a fuckin dynasty lol

That almost makes the "What coulda been" top line of Nash - Kopitar - Voracek by 2007 seem less bad.

2nd line could have been Ladd - Fedorov - Brassard. Defense had Foote, Klesla, Hejda and Methot.

Kopitar and Ladd were the scouts picks. MacLean scoffed at Kopitar and traded down from the Ladd pick. Just listening to the guys he paid to advise would have made a much better team. That's before we go into the idea of missing out on big talents who went later. These are active guys he passed on against the advice of his own scouts.

And yet Dudley's still employed by an NHL club (Florida again, go figure lol) and has been consistently since then while Doug somehow screwed himself out of gainful employment 5 years after finally getting the boot in Columbus.
