Great news on Tex. Hope they go ahead and let him try center.

A lot of people have been wondering why Elvis wasn't sent down before to get playing time, but I think it was a good idea to keep him up. His issue was he needed to adjust to NHL size ice and NHL speed and practice is where he is going to get that. You don't want him trying to learn that in games. My guess is the Jackets are comfortable and confident that he's gotten the speed down. Just need him to get a few games (behind a team that will score) to get his confidence and bring him back. They have 3 games this weekend. Once he gets rolling, he'll be fine.

Matiss is a tackling dummy for the weekend. No way he sees any time unless Korpi shits the bed. Again.

Interestingly enough, when the second period started the shot count went down to 20-8. By around the 6 minute mark, the shots were tied at 16. So, I guess Gila River was testing a new random number generator for shot counts.

No idea where they will come down on it. Looked worse because he left his feet, but the one angles shows that happened because they banged skates.

Bottom line is he went for a dirty hit. Shouldn't change anything that he missed most of it.

There you have it. Can't help but be a little perturbed. I am NOT arguing he shouldn''t have been suspended. He absolutely should have. He went for a dangerous hit that went really bad. He clearly didn't intend for it to end that way, but he still went for the hit. He should have been suspended and he knows it.

Where I get annoyed is this is a 11 year veteran with zero history of dirty hits and a fair amount of respect around the league. He got three for a mistake that went wrong. A few games a go, the league's biggest piece of shit chased down a rookie and sucker punched him after a whistle and only got 2.
