I like most all the changes the Canucks have done this off season going to be interesting to see how this team goes

I think Benning has made more moves in the past week than Gillis made during his entire tenure...
I guess I am one of the few that think the Canucks team might be pretty decent next year?
hard to say for me. you may be right. I dont know how the coach will adjust to NHL coaching this is his first gig. it HAS to be better than what Torts did last year. right...... RIGHT.. at least we ma have a practice
I think they'll be WAY better than they were last year. Reasons.
1) No more Torts.
2) Proper usage of the Sedins. They won't be asked to block 40 shots a game and take every D-zone face-off
3) Torts is gone.
4) Their D will rebound: I like their defense quite a bit. Edler, Biessskaaa, Hamhuis, Tanev and company are pretty well rounded as a group.
5) The players will play better without Torts.
6) Desjardins will be better than Torts was.
7) No more Torts.
8) A legit winger for the Sedins, or to shore up a solid second, in Vrbata.
9) Miller won't have as much of a sideshow going on in nets as Lou did last year. Plus he won't have to deal with Torts.
10)I like the Kesler trade. Some nice youth and ability in Bonino.
I think for all these reasons the Canucks will be markedly improved. I also like the change in head coaches.
points 1 - 3 - 5 - 6 - 9 are the biggest reason I kind of hope torts gets a coaching gig that sees them play the canucks 6 times a year
I think the Canucks could be in the playoff mix although it's going to be tough dislodge the three California teams in the Pacific division. The rest of the division is still hot garbage, in my opinion, but some of the garbage smells worse than others
