I kept seeing this kids name so I looked into him. Only seen highlight film. He will be playing Western MI in the Bahamas Bowl and in the senior bowl. This kid might be my Telvin Smith or Ali Marpet this year.

Kevin Byard S Midd Tenn St.

Great ability to highpoint, keep eyes on QB, ST's (blocked PAT), punch out of ball, seems to have decent speed, extreme awareness (from highlight film), loved that wrap up tackle over the seam.

I'd like see him do some more coverage in the WMU game. Like to see how his hips look along with his feet. That's one thing not really shown in those clips.

Also ran punts back so you know going in he can used on 3 ST units. The part that really sold me is his love of studying film. Does it translate to the field? Not sure but I love kids who need no motivation to be their best. Usually the extra film study pays off. Hear many players attribute a certain play to something picked up in the film room.

Smitty would love that he put two hands on the ball going in on a pic6.

I played TE and DE that year of football. Had 3 TDs on pop passes that year.

I liked him cause there is good talent in small school DBs. I've been trying to fulfill Smitty's wish list. He fits the list and his name is Kevin.

his hips open up fine when in zone from what I saw but yes I want to see him in backpedal and transition while at real game speed.

You could see his hips open up with fluidity when he has his eyes on QB and reads where the ball is going. He's actually pretty quick with his hips then but once again he's sitting in zone. I'd like to see what happens when he's trailing a WR.

He still looks really really good so far.

A very articulate young man who does the film study on his own. College degree first then NFL to help out family impressed me and what the coach had to say secondly

Why I yak at you about DBs. Certainly a position I can't break down like you.

When speaking of small DBs, I think Smitty had good thoughts about it. Me saying DBs are on a island most times with pure instincts and film don't lie when you watch them no matter the level of play.

Smitty saying trenches is the huge gap of talent. With speed and size of small school and power 5 kids.

On a serious note, now that Suh isn't a Pro-Bowler and Revis is, how does that shake out for that 1st comp pick awarded ? @gandydancer ... does it possibly drop Suh one spot... btw, NE doesn't have their 1st rd. this year for the deflate-gate debacle. Revis is 5M per yr average behind on contract. idk. just asking. I want Byard there if not before

2016 Compensatory Draft Pick Update (3/13/2015) - Over the Cap

Pro Bowl rosters loaded with 10 Panthers players

I been calling it the 96th pick for deflated reasons. Blue TBH I would have really look to see had that happened before? I know many speak of post season accolades being in the formula. When you look back over several years it seems the money is the biggest factor. I may look into that s'more. As long as my little peapod is napping. Otherwise paw paw is playing.

Can't believe Ebron and Tomlinson got snubbed off the roster like that.

Seriously though. Why do the Leo's gotta win themselves out of the Jaylon Smith sweepstakes?

Looking at the Lions over all stats.....

Lions are tied (NO) for 31st in the league with 6 int's. Only Baltimore has fewer at 4.

Needing someone in the back 7 is necessary.

Top prospects include

Jalen Ramsey- CB/S
Vernon Hargraves- CB
Jaylon Smith- LB
Myles Jack- LB

Top free agents include

Josh Norman- CAR
Janoris Jenkins- STL
P. Amukamara- NYG
