All the things I said are facts: SEC is most popular conference, and Bama is the king of the SEC, so duh. Wisconsin being ranked is just an ancillary point; I didnt even know whether Wisconsin was ranked or not. And Jerry World is THE place to have an extravaganza opening weekend blowout.

There is no way in hell a mid-ranked Notre Dame and a non-ranked, 6-7 Texas would be the opening weekend 'Gameday' selection.

Get a grip.

Just because the SEC is the most popular conference and Alabama is top of the SEC right now doesn't mean that's the reason the game was selected.

They are going to the Monday game between VT and Ohio St. And then there is basically no doubt in anyone's mind they will be at the Michigan St vs Oregon game in week 2 even thought it's not formally announced yet. All because that's the best game for week 2 due to the large number of cupcake games being played that week.

They are just a morning broadcast that focuses on all the teams. They just go to big games for the atmospheres and to have the big crowds in the backgrounds for big games.

ASU I would say has the best chance followed very closely by Arky.

I would say they split those games but to think they lose both is not outlandish.

I think it is more likely they have at least one loss than not.

Last season the Alabama vs Auburn, Ole Miss vs Alabama, Auburn vs Miss State and Alabama vs Miss st games were easy choices.
the #3 Ole Miss vs #24 LSU could have been surpassed by 20 USC vs 19 Utah. both games were decided by 3.
Missouri vs #14 South Carolina could have easily and probably should gone to 4-0 #1 FSU vs 4-1 NC State

I'll take #3 vs. #24 over #19 vs. #20 any day of the week, especially when one game has playoff ramifications and the other one doesn't and with the #3 team being on the road. And if they would have chosen FSU vs. NC State, that would have been the 3rd time in 5 weeks they went to an FSU game, and back to back FSU games. That was an extremely weak schedule that week. Also of note NC State had done nothing of substance to get to 4-0.
