Well where else would they go? Not a lot of big games in week 1. The only other one might be Louisville and the Barn

I can only guess he thinks they should have gone to the Texas vs Notre Dame game, and since they didn't it's all because of bias, not because it's the obvious choice due to the lineups that week.

okay, guess that put the nail in the coffin on this decision.

Still think the fact that it's in JerryWorld (and the Ft.Worth fan area), plus Alabama, that made their decision for them.
Has nothing to do with it.

Well to me your posts seemed to suggest there was some bias involved rather than the actual reasons, so I don't think it was a bad guess.

They pick the games based on what is likely the best matchup that week, always have. Hell they've even gone to a FCS school recently. It wasn't a hard choice for week 1 at all. 99% of college football teams are playing cupcakes, and there are only a few other games that don't.

So tell me if it was to pick for reasons other than what you gave, what games would be on the list if not Texas and Notre Dame and a few other SEC teams that I'm guessing would have drawn similar response?

oh man, you are entirely too sensitive. I dont even know all the games that are on that weekend, plus I really dont care who 'Gameday' selects.

All the things I said are facts: SEC is most popular conference, and Bama is the king of the SEC, so duh. Wisconsin being ranked is just an ancillary point; I didnt even know whether Wisconsin was ranked or not. And Jerry World is THE place to have an extravaganza opening weekend blowout.

There is no way in hell a mid-ranked Notre Dame and a non-ranked, 6-7 Texas would be the opening weekend 'Gameday' selection.

Get a grip.

I never understood all the ESPN is constantly propping up the SEC stuff. Just look at the games they went to last year:
  • September 27th - Missouri @ #14 South Carolina
  • October 4th - #3 Alabama @ #11 Ole Miss
  • October 11th - #2 Auburn @ #3 Mississippi State
  • October 25th - #3 Ole Miss @ #24 LSU
  • November 15th - #1 Mississippi State @ #4 Alabama
  • November 29th - #15 Auburn @ #2 Alabama
Half of those games were on CBS, so they're basically spending 3 hours propping up another game on another network when they have 4 games, sometimes 5 on their own networks.

I'd also love for somebody to point out, the times Gameday has chosen to go to an SEC location when that game wasn't the best of the week? I don't think it's rocket science why they've gone to more SEC games over the years...

I imagine week 7 they'll be in College Station when Alabama comes.
Why?
UGA vs Missouri is more appealing out of the SEC.
Ohio Ste vs Penn State
Michigan vs Michigan?
Notre Dame vs USC
Utah vs Arizona State
Kansas State vs Oklahoma
FSU vs Louisville

are all just as or more appealing

So Michigan is going to pad their record with another game against themselves?

Everybody except Udud. After all, they have only been to Seattle once and the Fuskies got seal clubbed by 24 points to lil ol Oregon.

So ya, I spose I would be sour as well.
