Junkie, do you think Fisher may have some reservations picking Jameis due
some very *uncanny similarities to Vince Young?
noidea.gif

*Duel threat
*Knuckle head
*Plays on a talented team
heads above their conference
*Success based on talent rather than student of
the game?

Not saying all of those are 100% true, rather more of the
perception.

Jameis is waaaaay more accurate as a passer and has a higher football IQ than Vince Young. Jameis also is not realy a dual threat. He can move, but not like Marriotta (4.49 speed). Jameis is more like Rothlisberger in the pocket. He's big and hard to bring down, moves well and has good pocket awareness, hangs in and takes a hit to make the play. if you look at 3rd downs in the 2nd half of games this year, when the game was on the line... I would bet he has 75%+ average of getting the 1st down ON PASS PLAYS ALONE.

He's 21-0 in his career. Hates to lose. Gets his team up when they are down. Sure he's got stupid talent at RB, but his WR's were better last year and his O-line was better last year. The D-line is young, LBs ok, but the secondary is so good they will have 4 guys drafted in the first 2 rounds! He's a clown like Peyton, but a little dumber/social media has killed him.

I agree he's a liability, but he's a hell of a football player. Vince Young is not in the league because he's not that good, not because he's dumb. Jameis is going top 5, if not top 10.

I'm a little biased. But the guy is a good football player! I hope he falls to us and we pull the trigger.

I bet many of you on here didn't know that Peyton Manning had a sexual assult/misconduct case settle out of court in Tennessee.. Not saying it was like Jameis, but the media likes a witch hunt. First Johnny Football, who also made dumb decisions.. Now Jameis.

Did any of you know the Florida QB this year was accused of sexual assault, then kicked off the team, then the girl came forward and dropped the charges? Then they re-instated the FLorida QB.

Sure Jameis is a clown and has done silly, stupid shit... But it's a little more magnified than other players right now and way more than 10-20 years ago.

I'm going to side with you on Winston SJ, but seriously what about Mariotta?? I think we need a LB as well, a TRUE stud! However, my only gripe is that I do not want the current coaching staff coaching these kids. smh

Marriota is sick and Tampa will take him. Oakland could too. He's going to be off the board very fast.

Yep, SJ76, I was hoping we could get Marriotta. The dude is lights out but under Shittenehimer's system I am sure he would be Bulgerized in a short period of time.

QB in rd1 and CB in Rd2. Winston is an upgrade if we can keep him on the field. Mariotta would require the Rams to lose out

Or he takes a look at the play book laughs, and thinks to himself no wonder we suck. He'd have a better chance at calling his own plays.

Mariota's physical talents are impressive, but I'm a bit worried about the scheme he plays in. He rarely progresses beyond his first read without running. That won't fly in the NFL; staring down your primary receiver is the quickest way to QB bust.

That may be a concern Shopson but if we draft the guy, given that he's available to us per draft order, and we sit him and develop him for a year or two, all of that can be fixed. That is why it is important to decide on a QB that is going to be the guy for the next two years. If that is Bradford or Davis, the decision to go with one or the other is important in light of that potential draft selection.

Don't be worried about Marriotta. He's a beast. The boy has it all. He can learn any offense cuz his football IQ is pretty high. Arm? He's got one. Speed? 4.49 - Russell Wilson speed but might be faster. The only thing I worry about with Marriotta is he hasn't seen good defenses.
He going to be special tho.

Good games on today. This Mississippi st defense has some pretty good players on it.

South Florida bowl on tonight. Get your popcorn!!

Not impressed with Miss St offense at all. They were scared and the play calling was Schottenheimer like.

I'm not overly impressed with BAMA either. Now SS Landon Collins and WR Amari Cooper is was very impressed with. They both deserve to be on the beast list.

I was watching that Miss State/'Bama game and they have a few good players on D. Interesting indeed.

Yeah man Miss St has a freshman safety: #26 Wells that 6'2 and has great speed. Their Dline is solid too.

Melvin Gordon RB Wisconsin had a huge day against Nebraska. 408 yards? Broke LT's record and one that Marshall Faulk was on the board at 386 yards in 1 game.

Gordon looks like Stephen Jackson with speed!

I missed that Gordon kid. Your comparison to Steven Jackson I have seen on ESPN. We could use another Steven Jackson type back to go with Tre Mason.
