If LSU was dumb enough to really fire Miles UT would have had to throw everything at him. But LSU wasn't dumb enough to do that.

IMO this guy is at best a fair coach, and his superior talent bails him out for a win a year. Plus, he doesn't coach his players up to their potential either. LSU has more NFL players than any other school.

And did you know he's 14-10 in the SEC over the past 3 seasons?

If I were a longhorns fan I would take him in a heartbeat over Strong. His problem is a lack of a real QB for a long time. I don't think what would be an issue recruiting in Texas.

I cant understand why UT hasn't had better talent at the QB position and overall, seems recruiting should be better than its has been

Who's responsible for this? And LSU already recruits Texas quite heavily.

This has always been a complete mystery to me. The Horns have not had a decent, much less good, QB since Colt McCoy. And I find this beyond amazing.

Yeah, but that's a pipeline vs being directly in the state.

Plus I would imagine his overall budget would be bigger at UT than LSU so more scouting dollars and recruiting tools. He's not a perfect coach but I would pay a lot more attention to UT football if he were at the helm.

It's also never gonna happen. I see their old coach in waiting is taking over the Game Cocks.

LSU, OU, UF and lots recruit heavily in Texas. I am just as amazed as you, why we cant recruit better, especially at the QB position. The state is huge and there is all the talent in the world here coming out of HS, and UT should be a perennially top ranking team. They remind me too much of the Cowboys, in regards to how they COULD/SHOULD perform on all levels from players to coaches to administration. Classic underachievers

Muschump to the other USC, he hopes he fares better than at UF

OU couldn't field a team if they didn't do well in Texas. And LSU traditionally does very well. But the Gators don't recruit Texas hardly at all.

The College Football Playoff will feature four conference champions for the second consecutive year, as Clemson, Alabama, Michigan State and Oklahomawill play for the national championship.

Something tells me that Oklahoma was bumped down because they did not want them in the Cotton Bowl unless who plays in the Cotton Bowl was not based of the 2 vs 3 seed. Was not sure about that. Otherwise I do not see a reason to have Michigan State jump Oklahoma.

The Spartans beat the #4 team, who was undefeated, and had quality wins on the road against one loss Ohio St, 2 loss Michigan, beat Oregon early, and then won yesterday. And they're only loss was due to an officials blunder late at Neb. and it was only a 1 pt loss at that.

Whichever team won yesterday between MSU/Iowa was gonna jump OU IMO.

If the Big 12 can't add teams to have a true playoff, they're going to risk serious problems forever.

I really don't have a problem with it but don't tell me about that quality win against Michigan. :)

That just might be the greatest "quality" win I've ever seen! ha ha ha

This year, it seems clear cut as to who are the 4 best teams, and with no clear-cut team to be favored IMO. So the seating is even less important than previously.

4 "quality" teams, there's that word again, and no matter what, whoever wins it, they will have beaten two "quality" opponents, and that's why they're the CHAMPS.

I truly love this time of year......great passion to be had, and terrific theater with all the talking-heads.

May is an idiot but have you noticed how many sorry analyst/ play by play guys there are now a days?

Unfortunately yes. And it's a sad state of affairs.

But this guy just oozes with arrogance! And he's never met a soap box he couldn't climb up on.
