What QB starved team would want him? Jets, Bills, Or Texans? Kaep isn't much of an upgrade over what these teams already have and Gabbert shouldn't even be in the league anymore let alone taking the reigns as the starter. San Francisco is between a rock and a hard place.

I could see Geno Smith and Big Mo for #7torm and the rights to Anthony Davis.

Does either team upgrade at all in this deal? I'm not sure there is a reason for either side to do this.

Sure the 49ers get one of the best 3/5 techs in the league a position thats a need with the retirement of Justin Smith and losing Ray Mcdonald. The Jets get a guy that'll sell tickets and maybe be a slight upgrade over Geno.

The rock being a rock of crack and the hard place being their dick......you may be correct

I could see chip trading Bradford and two first rounders for him because that's what chip does.

San Francisco would be downgrading to one of the worst QBs in the league and throwing him into another system halfway through the offseason which isn't doing him any favors. Wilkerson is pretty good but not good enough to make up for that much offensive production. As for the Jets, Kaepernick isn't going to be the catalyst that makes them a playoff team and he will also struggle in a new system. It just seems to hurt both teams more than it helps them.

If Brock Osweiler wasn't getting such rave reviews this off season I would say the Broncos would be interested but probably too much contract with Peyton still here. I do think he would do well with Kubiak as he can make it easier for a QB in his roll out offensive plays but again contract and already young guy in place make it most likely never happening.

Miami just locked up a QB, no chance they trade for him. Doubt many others want himm.

Going thru the list of who might be interested in Kaep, then I got to Chip Kelly....does anyone think he is whacked enough to make a offer? He might be.

Chip won't trade for Keap, he's not injury prone.

But I think Kaep used to be a pitcher. Plus, he once wrote a letter to his future self saying he wanted to be a QB.

So there's that

Even future Keap fell down laughing at the letter.

Do you think the 49ers would take a pallet of Gatorade?

York is cheap enough to be enticed by that offer. "I won't have to pay all those millions to him and I won't have to buy the team any Gatorade in 2015! What a win-win deal!!!"

The way they are retiring down there in Frisco, the team won't need Gatorade anyways.

No one is less sold on Mariota than I am but i wouldn't dream of trading him for Kaepernick. The question becomes if you want him as a backup are you willing to take on the drama? Most are not.

Kaep is a poor mans Mariota. Except that he's making millions.

Pretty close. I always said he was a poor mans Vince Young. Yours is more apt

Interesting comparison. When it's all said and done I think Vince will have had a better career.

The Niners are going to have to go back to depending on his legs way too much to generate offensive yds. Only a matter of time before he gets blasted by a NFL LB/DE while running and blows out a knee. It's not a matter of if, but when. Same with RG3 and all the other NFL QBs who were told to run, run, run, to make up for the teams lack of offensive.
