So, at about 7:45 this morning as I was driving my youngest out to school, one of my neighbors was firing his gun multiple times into his wife during an argument. She is alive, but just barely. And is incredibly likely to not remain alive. It's the house next door to my daughter's best neighborhood friend.

Gosh, if only someone would invent some other way to resolve conflict.

I've never met them, although generally have referred to the husband as "that dick with the Range Rover". He drives too fast in the neighborhood.

One of the cops I know saw me walking my dog and just swung by and told me that her condition has been upgraded to guarded from critical, and she actually got out of the house and called 911 from a neighbor's house. He said that word from the hospital is she is in better condition than first thought and will likely survive.

The dickhead is in custody. Was sitting in the house when they got there.

I really think castration would be a great deterrent and retribution to these kinds of violent crimes.

Well, turns out - per her story - that she got up to use the bathroom and he was already up and thought she was an intruder of some sort. He yelled "Who's in the house?" and then opened fire.

Two kids from up the street were walking to the bus stop on the sidewalk outside the house at pretty much the exact time. Fortunately, they had both apparently made the turn onto the other street and missed the bloody woman running and screaming. Although they probably loved having their moms and the police come talk to them at school...

Interesting side note, the two people that the news interviewed are the two biggest busybodies in the neighborhood, and one lives further away from the scene than I do. And I am far enough away that I didn't know what was going on until I took the dog for a walk. I actually texted my wife and asked who she thought would be the "concerned neighbor" - She said both of them. She gets the gold star.

on the weekend I went to Home depot and walked through the paint area. They had a handmade display on a 18 inch by 18 inch piece of drywall of different shades/tones of white ... there were 9 different quadrants with the different white paints applied .... the sign above it said "POPULAR WHITES" ... in the bottom left corner someone stuck a picture of George Clooney lmao

btw ... jstews consumer tip of the day ... if youre in the market for appliances ... get em from home depot (canada at least) ... they are out to lunch in terms of price checking their competitors ... bought a washer dryer combo that was priced a combined $500 higher than Sears canada ... they beat it by 10% and the price after discount was close to what I could have got them through Direct Buy (through inlaws account)
