Can't we hash this out somewhere else?
You forgot to sine your name to that post.If I had a dime for every pun related tangent on here...
I didn't go through with the sale, but I took my car there a few years ago before I moved to Sweden for work. The offer was reasonable, but I hadn't owned the car very long yet, so I was still in the early negative zone where what you owe on it is more than what it's worth, so I decided to keep it.Hey, anyone here ever sold a car to CarMax?
Curious on what the experience is like, what kind of value did you get (I am expecting somewhere between trade and private sale value). You can PM me if you wish.

I did not sell them the car but I had them give me an offer on my old car. They offered me 3,000 more than the dealership I was buying a new car from. I liked dealing with them for the 45 minutes I was there. I wish I liked the car company my local CarMax is affiliated with, I would have bought from them.Hey, anyone here ever sold a car to CarMax?

CarMax really broke the price they were giving me down. In fact they told me their offer was 6,500 (11 year old CRV but low mileage due to working at home then, I threw in the garter hanging on the rear view mirror) but that they would give me 7,000 if I had the headrests I took off 3 of the seats. Weird.Dealerships are the worst. I was looking at new cars years back and they offered me $2,000 for the car I was replacing. I sold it the next weekend myself for $12,800. I know you gotta have a margin, but come on.

So much for the new car buying experience, then.
