I'm baaaaaaack....
I woke up late too. Thinking about going back to bed, though...
Good god, it's like 5 outside.
That's what you get for living in heav, I mean Iowa...
Its almost 730 am..slept in with the kiddos. Sucks not to be working, hopefully I'll be starting another job in a couple of weeks.
I thought about getting my general contractors license, most of peers say I should get it. Right now our economy here sucks, and it wouldn't be a good time to invest and front a whole lot of money into starting my own company.
The housing boom has slowed down considerably over the past 2-3 years, but there it looks like the construction industry will pick back up again within the next 6 months and there is a lot of money being released for big projects. 6 billion rail transit system, university complexes etc.
Being a carpenter is the best.
You got that right. It's a proud feeling to drive by something you built.
Since I finally figured out how to upload pics, I'll post a couple of projects from last year. (Haven't really done anything worth bragging about since the baby came though.)
shit.. I'm repped out for the next 24.
Have a good one, Nate. If I sit here any longer, I'll be crackin' a brew...

I was in Hawaii a few months ago and there was construction EVERYWHERE. It seemed like every block had something going on. And lots of traffic from all the road work.
