One of my good friends is from Detroit. Until his and his wife's parents passed away they would go back every year. He saw it get worse and worse then better and better. Last time he went he stayed downtown and he said he rode his bike all over town. What used to be horrible areas was now fields and green space. And he said a decent portion of downtown was much better than it was when he lived there. So while its not ideal, they are making an effort that seems to helping somewhat.I mean, if you've been there it's pretty plain to see that while it is a sort of poster child for urban blight, you can also clearly see that the powers that be are dedicated to demolishing derelict houses, building urban farms and trying to save what they can. Instead of giving up, they are performing CPR.
If that's what Kamala Harris will bring to the whole country sign me the fuck up.
This is heart breaking to listen to
It is a cult

One guy is basically calling the biggest city in the state a hell scape
And then the sitting governor fed a potato chip to some chick who hosts a podcast called "chip chat"
tough day for Michigan voters indeed
He was really conscious and alert about how dangerous it could be. Outside his college dormI spent two days in Detroit this summer and I gotta be honest, when I was there I told my son this is a hell of a lot nicer than downtown Pittsburgh is since Covid.
The homeless population in Pittsburgh has grown seemingly 10 times to what it was when I left working downtown in 2019.
Since then I’ve been to Pittsburgh I will say 10 times, mostly for concerts and hockey games and the entire downtown city smells like piss. It’s sickening.
I felt safer and more comfortable in Detroit than I did my hometown
My friend always talked about how dangerous Detroit used to be. He used to talk about how people were killed outside his college dorm when he was there. One was a prostitute who was set on fire. Last time I was there was for my last company 2 years ago. They had us in a hotel right downtown by the Grand Circus Park. Didn't feel unsafe walking around to dinner or from the office to the hotel. We even considered walking to Little Caesar's Arena for the Wings game, but it was a bit far. I could see the Ambassador Bridge from my hotel room.He was really conscious and alert about how dangerous it could be. Outside his college dorm

He's about 10 years older than me and not a big guy and probably has an expensive bike...... but he was never worried as he biked solo through Detroit last time he was there.
That's probably because you're outspokenly and violently anti-Muslim.I didn't care much for Dearborn, though.
It's nice when ghost posts show up. Just in time for the Halloween seasonHe was really conscious and alert about how dangerous it could be. Outside his college dorm
