There is a cell phone video that disputes this account of events, at least as written. The video is from someone on the ground near the shooter showing him focused and calm, lying on his stomach and taking the time to aim. Then firing off five shots before the video cuts out. In the background you hear at least five different voices yelling to police that he's up there.

There is another that shows him crawling across the roof slowly from the back. It must have taken him a while to cover the distance of the whole roof.

Not sure why officials would claim they knew he was there, engaged him and chickened out when none if it appears true.

The pick leaked because of a grift. Classic.

Also have the convention on the screen muted and it without words it just looks like someone just rounded up all the out of touch old white people they could find and are keeping them in some sort of containment facility.

So does JD Vance have to give up his Senate seat? Do we get a do-over?

Really wish that was the case. Unless Trump wins he has to resign his seat when he is sworn in as VP.
Now the fun part....Your "Great" <sarcasm> governor gets to appoint his replacement until a special election occurs. At that point whoever wins that special election finishes out his term.

Granted a turn-out for special election is usually lower so whatever party is more engaged at that time will win.

Darn it. Ohio has put Abortion Rights and doing away with gerrymandering on this ballot and it's all gonna drive a lot of voter engagement.

Would be nice to have everyone involved and not just the mid-termers that put him in place have a say in him getting gone. He is not very popular, although my view is skewed by living on a liberal island in a conservative state.

Mike DeWine is extremely unpopular as well.

Worse VP choice: Palin or Vance?

Discuss.
Palin by far. Her inclusion gave credence and legitimacy to what was a fringe movement in the Republican Party - the Tea Party. Once legitimized it paved the way for Qanon, MAGA and Project 2025. The fringes could have been snuffed out then, but giving them air ended what was conservatism and started the cult.

There was a time when I could see *why* conservatives wanted what they wanted. I disagreed heavily but often thought that most, while misguided, believed what they were saying. Now they have to satiate the beast (the cult). Like I posted above JD Vance thought Trump was America's Hitler, now he's licking those same boots and he had to to get elected in Ohio, and he barely did that. I don't think he helps Trump in Ohio.

I hope he is happy to be the next person the angry mob wants to hang.
