This seems like a rather strange fine, especially since Scott was already on the ice and since the Leafs had last change.
Suspending Kessel three pre-season games is akin to suspending a MLB pitcher three games for throwing at a batter (i.e. he won't miss his next start).
As for Rolston’s fine, do expect to hear some questions as to what exact rule(s) he broke. The fight did not occur in the final five minutes of the game — thereby negating the coaching fine in rule 46.22 — so it’ll be curious to hear the league’s reasoning… if we do hear anything.
Does this mean any slash during the regular season that goes to Shanahan will get a pre-season suspension as well?
