They signed Doc Rivers. Now the Clippers has a better coach than the Lakers.

They already had the better coach. Clippers were ranked what in the West this year compared to the Lakers?

Good, now if they'll pick up that corpse KG the Lakers won't have to worry about the "other team" for at least five years. The only person more overrated than KG and Doc Rivers is Danny Ainge. Lakers fans everywhere can breathe easy!

Vinny might have underachieved being beaten by Hollins and the Grizzlies. Rivers will motivatee the Clippers. If everything stays intact, the Clippers will be the force in the West.

After days of wrangling, negotiating and posturing, the Los Angeles Clippers have agreed in principle to a deal with the Celtics for coach Doc Rivers, pending league approval, according to sources.

Sources confirmed on Sunday that the Clippers will sign Rivers to a three-year, $21 million contract. They will send a 2015 first-round pick as compensation to the Celtics, who have agreed to release the coach from the three years, $21 million he has remaining on his deal with the club.

Sources close to the process told ESPN that the Clippers believe the deal with Rivers will clinch Chris Paul's signature on a new five-year max contract. Paul becomes an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Clippers GM and Paul must figure Doc Rivers is such a magical ambassador to the game to covet him so much. Maybe they figure his Celtics luck will rub off on them and differentiate them from the Lakers. Either way the Clippers are going to come up short to the Thunder. If they're lucky they might get one finals appearance out of this run. But then there's that #1 draft pick they have to give up in 2015. I guess this is just another situation where all the teams want to be better than the Lakers but not be good enough to beat the Heat.

So long Celtics Heat rivalry. It was fun, but this is Boston throwing in the towel.

It will be Dwightmare part 2 for the Lakers. Dwight will want to force trade to the Clippers. Although the Lakers will benefit if they get Blake and Bledsoe in return .

Celts are throwing it in, for sure. Stars who are 33, 34 and 35 start slowing down. I am just happy that unlike the last Celtics rebuild, we did not go out getting nothing. A few more deals ahead, and probably a 2 year hiatus before it all looks clear. They have too many picks now to draft them all, so I can all sorts of deals in the year ahead

Good move by the Clips as Doc is a great coach!! Having said that, how about we have the Clips get out of the 1st round and hang a banner or 2 before we start declaring their mastery over anything!!

The Lakers are going through a bit of a downtime and the Clips are going all out in trying to take advantage. That is exactly what they should do. The question is whether or not they can succeed before the Lakers inevitably get back on top!!

Past history suggests that will figure out a way to go all "Clippers" and screw it up. Their biggest problem is Donald Sterling. No one is allowed to make any moves in the organization without his direct approval and he is not always readily available to give it. Turns out that part of the reason that the deal to get Doc has taken so long is because the folks working on the deal couldn't get a hold of him to get his approval.

I'm just pointing out the truth and the truth is the Clippers haven't done squat until they win a title.

The Clips just got a whole lot better. Now we will see what moves they make in the offseason.
