I was disappointed in him b/c of his 2nd round pick status and felt he didn't live up to it. Just now he is starting to become a solid player. I just did not agree with you guys that TM or Long were the right picks at the time. I called them backup players. So is calling them backup players bashing? I just cant see how anyone can bash Norman.

On Sunday Norman makes arguably the biggest play of the game that led to a Redskins win. But posters on here point to Tm's 3rd qtr sack and boast that he leads the team in sacks. Which was more important? the sack or the pick?

Yes Norman made the play of the game. So MAYBE he has actually proven he is worth 1/10th of the contract we signed him to. Hell at one point Clinton Portis ripped off a 75 yard TD run in his first game with us, did that automatically make him worth Champ Bailey and a 2nd rounder. You were vehement in your boast that once we signed Norman, we didnt NEED any D-line help. Norman alone would put us over the top and VASTLY improve this defense. He didnt need pass rush help to make our pass defense better because he is just that good. Well four games in, our defense as a whole is worse, and our pass defense is not much better than it was this time last year despite the addition of Norman.

No one is knocking his play. But I am directly saying, he has to do a WHOLE lot more to be worth the $36.5 million guaranteed we have given him to this point.

On the filp side... Murphy has been worth the 2nd rounder we gave up and every last dime of the $4.5 million we will have paid him at the end of his contract.

Opining that Norman's INT was the biggest play of the game is a reasonable opinion. It didn't lead to a Redskins win though. It did assist greatly in sealing the win.

But posters on here point to Tm's 3rd qtr sack and boast that he leads the team in sacks.

That has more to do with rubbing your nose in your opinion that Murphy is a scrub and if left up to you. Might not be a part of the team right now.

Which was more important? the sack or the pick?

If this ^^^^^^^ was directed at me. I've already answered that. In post #24 of this thread.

I knew dline was our weakest link but our defensive coordinator is just bad. He doenst blitz are the right times. yes Norman alone vastly improves this defense but obviously others have to step up. Who would of predicted that RK and PS would give us absolutely nothing thru 4 games. Lets hope that we somehow fix the run defense. We don't have to be top 10 but we should be able to get out of the cellar. The coaching has a lot to do with it. At 2-2 the sky is not falling.

Hell at one point Clinton Portis ripped off a 75 yard TD run in his first game with us,

It was a 64 yard TD run and it was officially his first play as a Redskin. As the Skins were called for a penalty the play before (a short Portis run) Which TB accepted negating the play and making it 1st n 15 from the Skins 36 yard line.

It never got any better than that with CP, at least not for me, but fuck, that was a wonderfully, great ass moment.

So, if TM were to get 13 sacks and we sign him to another deal...was he worth a second round pick?

What if he gets 8 sacks and signs a reasonable contract?

Crickets.......

In dean's defense. He has been carrying on quite a few conversations. I agree with you though. If he would just admit he was wrong, a lot of it would go away. Not all of it and never completely, but a lot of it would,

then live with the crap you get. Just dont cry when you get it.

We all give opinions on here. None of us know what's really happening. But most of us have no issue admitting when we were wrong. I've been wrong plenty of times.

Dean ain't bananaman. He goes to extremes at times and tends to fall in love with players based on some bloggers evaluation, but he means well and is probably a good guy and someone you could have a beer with (if he is old enough to drink???). Banamaman was none of those and more likely to get his ass kicked in a bar, not share a drink with.
