Chiarelli squashes rumors

Boston Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli squashed rumors that he's willing to trade the #2 pick in this years draft, in a recent interview. That's great news for long suffering Bruins fans, who are looking forward to seeing either Taylor Hall or Tyler Seguin in a Bruins uniform.

Not sure that Chia could trade it even if he wanted to - the Bruins are too tight against the cap to take on anything but an entry level contract. In fact, I'm pretty sure he's going to have to move someone (Tim Thomas?) to make room for everyone else. According to capgeek, Boston has about $9 million left and 8 roster spots to fill (including Seguin/Hall).

Good move imo. Drafting that high just doesn't happen often enough for one team to let one slip by.
