I'm just pissed that the deciding goal was that garbage ass penalty shot

That was a tough call for sure. I can see why he called it but he could have just called the penalty as well.

I want to see a replay because my first and only look made it seem like go got between the hands.

Either way he didn't hinder his ability to get the shot off IMO...at most I was thinking 2mins.

Well played refs that would have been a weak penalty but a penalty shot? Well played.

You know, for a team that gets more powerplays than just about everyone, the Red Wings sure do have a lot of fans that bitch about officiating.

Aren't you the guy pissed about his car getting keyed in Chicago on Wednesday? If it is you, please post pics of the damage for us.

I still think Wings win in 7. Thought that when they were up 3-1.

...Toews never touched up after that play. Should have been offsides way before that chance
Would have been offsides on Toews, except the Wings player brought the puck back into the zone. Check the replays. Initially, I thought the same thing. But look again. It was the right call...no offsides.

The link is working, but I got a big ass SPAM CHECK ad covering half the screen and my anti-virus has blocked at least one thing.
Time to buy a SlingBox. Watch your home TV ANYWHERE with any internet connection! Great for sports fans.

It's so painful not being able to watch this.

WW, next time, check out the /r/hockey board for the GDT... for example, tonight's thread was here.

They always post a lot of streams (including the GameCenter home/away feeds that you can watch with VLC/Quicktime/Phone/etc. and you don't have to worry about ads/other bullshit).

Thx for the advice, but this was one of the rare times I was away from my beloved TV set. Probably's not worth the investment.

As long as Crawford continues to be in net the wings have a shot. He hasn't looked good in much of this series. Now the pressure shifts to the hawks with game 7 at home.

If there's one thing that I have learned this season, is that the wings win the games that you least expect them to
Did I miss something? Doesn't Crawford have the second best goals against average in the playoffs? Crawford's been good enough when needed. If not for him, Hawks lose in five games. Howard gave up two juicy rebounds tonight resulting in Hawks goals. And I would be the LAST person to blame Howard for any loss in this series. Without his play, Hawks win in four straight.

He is 3rd in GAA and Save %. Only the 1 weak goal tonight. No way its Crawfords fault this has gone 7 games.

Actually, that would be the Sharks, but yeah....it turns out most of the calls agaisnt Detroit's opponents are the correct call. Who would have thunk it?

I would put him 2nd in GAA, unless you think Kevin Poulin is having one of the gretest postseasons of all time for a goalie right now with his 2 games played, and the fact that he faced a total of 15 shots?

And you could actually make a case for him technically being 2nd in Save %, only because Vokoun has played in 3 less games with only a slightly better % than Crawford.

We have had the advantage in PPs only one game this series and it was skewed by all the late minutes to Shaw and Bickell in game 4.

It does get a little tiresome seeing the other team routinely get the man advantage...

At least in the first round series it went back and forth...

Agree. The Hawks scored 2 goals in what, 3 full games (2-4). That's not on Crawford.

Wings Fans are quite ready to enter the Eastern Conference next year with the ref talk. Every game in every East series has had each team screwed by the stripes at least once.

The penalty shot, was the right call. The Hawk was in a step ahead of the Wing, and the chop across the hands negated the shot getting taken. The Wing made no attempt to play the puck and went solely for the takeout. One of the few "controversial" calls this year I've agreed with.

And furthermore, in that situation if you're the Wings - you want the Penalty shot. That's an all or nothing one shot deal. And with the practice goalies get in shootouts, the odds are heavily stacked in the goalie's favor. Just so happens that Howard didn't read the backhand and didn't keep his back upright. He fell forward and whiffed.

As for the offsides, the Wings carried it in. end of story.

Looked to me like Detroit thought "Piss off Toews, it will work again". And the rest of the Hawks finally realized that it meant open ice for them.

I agree it was the right call but I was still a little surprised they called it. I also think it was to Detroit's advantage. Frolik was something like 3 for 14 on shootouts/ps prior to that one and he hadn't taken one in a couple years. Given the lead the Hawks had, and that the top RW skaters would be killing a pp for 2 minutes, I was aggravated Frolik was awarded a ps. I thought the Hawks pp that was on a 3 for 5 streak was going to be far more advantageous and likely to contribute to a Hawks win...until Frolik scored.

Colaiacovo should be drawing more heat for than the officials for that entire sequence. I've seen plenty of Wings fans point to that over the officials.

I thought Chicago's bottom 2 blueline pairs made a bunch of mistakes with the puck. They better clean that up or Detroit is going to make them pay for it in game 7. Detroit's blueline had a much worse game 6, I think we'll see a better game out of that group in game 7 too.

That's exactly how I feel. I was amazed the ref had the balls to call a penalty shot in the 3rd period of the game like that.

I agree it was an odd time for a ref to finally give the fans some much needed consistency.

Better late than never*, I guess.
