Chargers @ Broncos

Watching NFL Countdown, and on the left margin of upcoming stories is this little gem:


"Broncos in Trouble?"


We go 13-3, #1 seed, we're 3-1 against the Chargers in the PFM era, and we're in trouble??? Are you freaking kidding me???

That's been the media spin all week: The Chargers blueprint, PFM one-and-done, Broncos defense porous, etc, etc., blah, blah, blah.

I'm looking for the Broncos to remind the world why they have the best record in the AFC and field an offense that's never been witnessed before. I also think Jack Del Rio is gonna be loaded for bear in this one. The Chargers aren't going to know what hit them!

Some things that could affect the Chargers:


1) Mathews gimpy, questionable to play. Him getting to the outside hurt us last time. If he's out or not 100%, does he go back to only gaining 50-70 yards?


2) OC Whisenhunt visited four different teams for interviews the past 4 days before this game. Possible distraction for the team?

I think it's simple, if the Broncos don't turn the ball over they win handily. If they do it will be a close game and who knows. I don't think we turn the ball over, 38-20 good guys. The Broncos have been thinking about this date for a year. Time to get some right today baby....

Run the damn ball. A FG there would have been ok. Terrible pass that shouldnt have been thrown which gives the Chargers hope yet.

My thoughts at halftime:

The Broncos got boned on that Julius Thomas "fumble."

The defense is playing lights out: as if they are tired of hearing about how bad they are.

The ground game is looking great today.

The team as a whole appears focussed. They had better keep it up.

That last series was a complete waste. Even 3 points would have been okay. I'm not sure why they went away from the run at that point.

The Broncos get it first coming out of the half. They squandered a chance to really burry the Chargers and the game is still very much contested. If the Broncos don't come out and put another 7 on the board the Chargers are going to have new life. This first drive of the second half is vital.

Go Broncos!

The turnovers are getting very old. Yes a fg before half would have been huge. It was a pass that shouldnt have been thrown

A field goal there would have taken more of the running game away from SD. Just bad luck on the bounce. To bad many did not give Decker chance to catch the pass on 2nd down. That pass was to high and had to much mustard on it. It reminded of passes thrown by Elway, but he would have taken something off of it because it was so close to the goalline.

The D has been very imprssive so far and now the offense can step on the Chargers throat here with a TD.

17-0 going into the 4th. The Broncos have left a lot of points out there, though. That's bad. Defense is going to need to do it again. We want a boring 4th quarter.
