That hurt my feeling.
Well, I wouldn't want anyone slandering my mom's good name. For the record; she never had sexual relations with your dad- she doesn't even know who he is. I am the only one to have sex with your dad. It wasn't even enjoyable. I was blowing him and kept trying to look up to make eye contact but he just keep pushing my head down to keep licking his balls. Then I didn't swallow (personal policy) and he tried to burn me with his cigarette. Crazy fuck. I drove 500 miles to blow my boyfriend and that was the thanks I got! And don't even get me started on your mom....

So if you trade a guy for a few prospects and then sign the guy back, did you not just pay $86 million for your prospects?

Or did you just get 4 prospects for free?

I can think of another franchise I'm very familiar with that got a little crazy and power-drunk with the checkbook. They're not doing too well right now....
The Yankees have won more Championships than any franchise in any sport doing things just this way

If I had to pick between those two, I'd go with the latter. Presumably, the Yankees would have signed Chapman without the trade to the Cubs, so they gave him up for a few months and got some prospects.

Everyone is a winner here. Yanks get prospects and get back Chapman while the Cubs got their WS title.

Makes sense, even if AC was in on the conversation. The Yanks weren't going anywhere last year and AC probably was excited to be part of the deal. Sounds a little sneaky on the surface to essentially leverage a guy like that but if the Cubs were willing participants, why not? I guess the issue for the Cubs was whether dealing the prospects was selling their soul for the ring. I'd guess a little of both.

I guess the Yankees have money to burn, but I don't see how that team is going to have enough late inning leads to even make use of a guy like Chapman.

Personally, I don't see it as sneaky at all. The Cubs knew Chapman was a free agent at the end of the year when they made the deal, and I'm sure he'd sign with the Cubs if they'd pay more than the Yankees.

I guess I just don't really see the connection between the trade and the free agent signing. Sure, they're both involving the same player, but neither event relied on the other to exist.

For Chapman's part, he's $86MM richer this AM and he's gonna have a shiny new ring for his time spent in Chicago. I expect that he's pretty happy with how it all went down.

No argument from me on this one. As for the 'sneaky' part, I don't think anybody who follows the game is surprised that this transaction occurred. I am not bothered by it either way. At least he's out of the NL-C!

Home Run for Yankees. Lets some this up they get Warren back and a top Prospect for Chapman knowing they wont do anything last year, then they sign chapman back and didnt have to give up their 1st rd pick. He is the best closer in baseball. They have the best 1-2 punch in baseball set up for the next couple of years.

Great move. Cashman plan is working and I cant wait for the 2018 season and the Big 2019 season. This year is to just get teh young kids more experience and finally get rid of Arod, CC contract. after this year they lose 75 mill off the books and will fall under the 192 mill tax hold so they can spend big in that 2018 class.

A+

Last year from May 9th thru July 23rd, he somehow managed to pitch in 31 games and had 21 save opportunity (20 saves and 1 BS). This was a pretty stupid comment by you

I disagree.

I assume you're talking about a bullpen 1-2 punch. If that's the case, I disagree with that too.
Well I wouldnt want any other closer late in the game. (I agree there might be an discussion about this, its not clear)
Yes talking about the Bullpen. Name another 1-2 punch. We have 2 all stars as our 1-2 punch who has the lowest ERA and most strike outs in the last 3 years. (this is clear as hell).

also this move is not for just this year. This is for part of the plan in the coming years. 2018 and 2019 seasons is what the yankees are looking forward to. This year is about the getting more experience for this young team and be in the hunt for the wildcard. East has took a step back with Blue Jays and O's taking a step back. Yes Boston is the clear Fav to win the East.

Britton and Miller were both better than Chapman last year. There's a couple others as well.

We have 2 all stars as our 1-2 punch who has the lowest ERA and most strike outs in the last 3 years. (this is clear as hell).

I will admit, I was underestimating Betances. He's a lot better than I thought. That said:

2016 Numbers
Miller/Allen - 142.1 IP - 1.96 ERA - 210 K - 0.84 WHIP

Betances/Chapman - 131.0 IP - 2.40 ERA - 216 K - 1.01 WHIP

Yankees' 1-2 had six more K's. Indians' 1-2 had significantly better ERA and WHIP.

Not clear as hell - at least, not in the direction you thought.
