This is the kind of game we need to win. I won't say "must win", but if we are to be contenders, and catch the Dodgers, and put some fear into the other teams, this is the kind of game we need to find a way to win. We can't give in to the mentality of "Gosh, the Pirates are really good, and it's on the road, and one out of three ain't bad, and Cole is awfully good, and Pence is hurt, and it's an odd year anyway, waah, waah, waah."

I actually think today is more "getable" than tomorrow's game. The Giants are thawing Leake up today (he is 2-0 against Cole this season) and Vogey tomorrow.

He adjusted his approach to swing at the first pitch this year, and he found a lot of success. But I think it may be time to readjust as it looks like the pitchers adjusted to that approach.
