Make the playoff at least eight teams, and most of the above arguments and bellyaching evaporate.

Teams 5 and 6 chose their fate. #5 had a terrible schedule, and #6 lost to #5.

If the committee simply think OSU is better that is fine.

OSU might just be better.

But, bullshit reasons about better strength of schedule is lame....It doesn't hold any water.

Evidently, it may have. Didn't the committee, all along, say that SOS would be considered?

Why in Gods name would you take USF or UCF over Boise, Houston or BYU.

get into the fertile recruiting grounds of Florida, like SEC did with Texas (a&m).

No reason whatsoever to get Boise into the conference. They are a good team/program, but they dont add recruiting or TV sets/population.

Boise, Cincy, Houston, BYU

I could even see ND getting into some of this discussion. It's been long talked about and it's inevitably gonna have to happen with the direction CFB is heading. I'd just prefer it be sooner, rather than later.

The only problem is that ND has 'thrown in' with the ACC in nearly all athletics since bolting from the Big East, but the football team has remained an Indy. Not sure if the football team could just venture out and join another conference like the Big XII. I wouldn't mind it all though ... it's sort of a win-win for all and provides the Big XII another big-time football program to join the conference.

you do know how expansion works dont you? boise and houston add nothing really to the mix and no one wants to deal with byu and there "no play on sunday" rules. taking two top 20 colleges base on enrollment and metro demographics would be a coup and strengthen recruiting ties to florida.

Looks like you needed 11 wins to be in the discussion...TCU and Baylor came up short.

Question since I can't remember and too lazy to look up:

Is it the NCAA or each conference, themselves, that decide on the number of conference games to be scheduled within each conference?

Conference. PAC plays 9, SEC plays 8.

That is stupid. Team 4 lost to a team that is 6-6, but you want to criticize TCU for losing to Baylor?

Ohio St just destroying Wisconsin cemented them as the team most likely to win it all between the 3 teams in question and that is why I have them in. Those of you acting like they had some superior SOS are smoking crack though. I can't find a single computer that had them significantly higher than Baylor or TCU overall for some of you to be so matter of fact about it. At worse it was pretty much a wash and their average margin of victory was pretty much a wash too. It was unbelievably close and for Jeff Long to act like it wasn't is the only thing that bothers me.

They were listing the SOS's #'s on the games last nite and tOSU had the better of them all.

TCU, Baylor, and Ohio State were all close. Baylor beat KState, which pulled H2H into play for comparing TCU and Baylor. Baylor eliminates TCU from discussion. Now compare Baylor and Ohio State. Ohio State had a significantly tougher schedule than Baylor, so they get the nod.

This should not be hard to follow...

That is fine, but if SOS is the guideline, why is OSU 4th? They have a tougher schedule, than Oregon. If I am an AD, I am not sure what to make of the committee
