OSU looked like the best team of the 3. It's that simple. They are picking the TOP 4 TEAMS. WTF don't people understand about that. Everyone is stuck on the mindset of the oldsystem. Idiots like Joey Galloway don't help public knowledge either.

I agree with this. In the old system, you didnt get dropped if you won. Even if you won by one point against podunk U.

You knew it was a new system when they dropped FSU out of number 1. It's a new ballgame.

And in this new way of doing things, even thought I think it's assbackwards stupid, the Big12 is going to have to force NCAA to let them play a CCG even if they dont expand.

THIS ^^^ TCU played a cupcake their last game and it hurt them Iowa st lost to north dakota st (Div 2) and badly

TCU did not have much control over their schedule concerning Iowa State, any more than any conference team has control over playing the last place team in their league.

I don't know much about their out of conference schedule and that may have been the deciding factor, but implying that they scheduled a cupcake for their last game is tacitly unfair.

College football is weakened when the conferences are not on the same page together.

Consistency folks........consistency.

Consistency is an admirable quality, but round robin is not weaker than CCG.

Rr you play all the fucking teams. The best, the second best, the third best, the passing team, the run heavy, the good run d team, the quick tempo team, the team you might not match up well against.

Fuck. Consistency is a good point, but round robin is STRONGER. so consistency is good, but if you're going to not have it, make sure you're better. Round robin is demonstrably better.

I think most of us agree that, ultimately the committee got it right, but the way they got there was pretty screwed up.

A buddy of mine nailed it last night when he said that the smartest person on the committee was Archie Manning. He saw this coming and said "screw it, this looks like a good time to have that medical procedure that I've been putting off".

They dropped three places after a 55-3 win. That's hard to explain. That basically means that all of the previous rankings out of the Committee were meaningless. If that's the case, don't make them. Just pick your teams after the Conference Championships.

What? And deprive all the weeks of suspense, drama, gnashing of teeth ... culminating in meltdowns???

Unfortunately, there is too much money to be made by too many people for them to stop doing it the way that they did.
