I have to assume the Argos protected Ricky Ray, thus I'm very surprised the RODBLACKS didn't select Zach Collaros.

Coin flip between him and Bo Levi, but if I had to guess, I would put my money on Bo Levi being protected and the REDBLACKS going with the safe pick in Kevin Glenn. Rick Campbell probably knows better than most what kind of person Drew Tate is (i.e. kinda flaky).

I guess if you're going to make the safe pick with Kevin Glenn, why not roll the dice on Zach Collaros (even if he is a UFA?). If he does stick with a NFL team, it will likely be holding a clipboard on the sidelines. That said, you can make good money in the NFL holding a clipboard on the sidelines.

By the way, best of luck to Kevin Glenn in Ottawa, he was a class act in Calgary and he will be missed.

CCtsn: Tough call for #REDBLACKS to choose between Kevin Glenn and Drew Tate at QB. Wonder if the #CalStampeders "helped" Ottawa decide? #CFL

Is Chris Cuthbert suggesting some skulduggery behind the scenes?

I would like to thank Ottawa for taking Eric Fraser from Calgary, the only reason this guy was on the Stamps is because of the Canadian ratio requirement, he is all kinds of turrible.

so ... is that the way the rules work? Team that got a QB drafted could protect 2 extra canadian players?

Id keep Ianuzzi and SJ Haidara over Demarco every day of the week

Yeah, I'm pretty happy overall with how the day went for the Stamps - As much as I like Glenn, it was time to turn the page/QB duties over to Tate/Mitchell. They managed to keep both Maver and Paredes and didn't lose any of their top receivers. Fraser getting snapped up was a bonus as well, I couldn't stand that guy.

Marcel bellefeuille completely threw ianuzzi under the bus when asked today to comment on ianuzzi tweeting that he is settled in vancouver and probablywould walk away from football if he was deafted by ottawa

"Funny how sometimes the guys who put that out are the guys at the bottom of your list"

Ouch!

Ouch!

Dean Valli made that comment as well (about retiring if he was picked).
I chuckled.

to put it another way - suck eggs Winnipeg :D

/I like the hire, some people believe Stubler's schemes seem to lack aggression, but his defenses are usually top-notch.

what percentage of team players have to be from canada?

the convoluted rules

Each team may dress a 42-man active roster consisting of:

•3 QBs (no designation)
•19 imports
•20 non-imports
The 19 imports break down as follows:

•16 imports
•3 Designated Imports
The three designated imports are players who can play on special teams OR replace an import starter (they cannot start).

Of the 24 starters on a team, a minimum of seven starters must be non-imports. When applied to a starting roster of a team it breaks down as follows (when using the minimum number of non-import players):

•1 QB
•16 starting imports
•7 starting non-imports

non import = A player who was physically resident in Canada for an aggregate of 7 years prior to turning 15 or if he’s a Canadian Citizen, was physically resident in Canada for an aggregate period of 5 years prior to turning 18.
