That is a surprise because I thought the Eskies would have been targetting Campbell (son of Hugh, familiar with the Eskimo Way and all that crap). Hmmm, I wonder who takes over as DC in Calgary?

Price signs contract to stay with Stampeders

The Stampeders could still lose Price, 28, via the expansion draft. Conventional wisdom suggests the Red Blacks are more likely to select a player under contract rather than a potential free agent.

Something tells me that Price will be on the protected list for the Stamps, too much speed and talent to let go.

I wonder if Barron Miles is looking to move from the Riders (currently cornerbacks coach) to the Stamps to take over the DC position.

And so it begins - Unless there's a trade between the Argos and another team, I have a feeling that the Redblacks will be picking Zach Collaros as another QB.

LaPolice was scheduled to be in Vancouver this week to discuss what Benevides previously described as a career choice for the former Winnipeg head coach, who worked last season as a TSN analyst. Television won, at least for now.

“The TSN deal is ridiculous,” said one source familiar with the situation involving the Winnipeg-based LaPolice and the league’s broadcast rights-holder. “It’s also a lot easier having to fly in and work a couple of days a week.”

An unconfirmed report had the network, which recently lost a bid to retain its NHL rights, adding time and cash to LaPolice’s contract.

Maas and Khari Jones would be the front-runners and I think either would be a good choice. Stamps might promote from within for their DC job (I'm hearing Devone Claybrooks), but don't rule out Rich Stubler either (rumoured to be the front-runner in Winnipeg).

Also Stamps D-lineman Cordarro Law has worked out for the Patriots.

The CFL's ninth franchise, the Ottawa Redblacks have announced their import selections in Round 1 of the expansion draft, highlighted by the choice of Calgary Stampeders quarterback Kevin Glenn.The Redblacks also selected quarterback Thomas DeMarco, defensive linemen Moton Hopkins and Jonathan Williams, Receivers Wallace Miles and Carlton Mitchell, offenive lineman James Lee and running back Chevon Walker.
