Shocker on how poor the ACC and PAC 12 are
The Big 12 does great for their small footprint

ACC has the largest population footprint

State Populations total per conference

ACC 100,600,000 (Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Kentucky) did not include Indiana

SEC 100,200,000 (Florida, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Missouri, South Carolina, Louisiana, ALabama, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi)

B1G 87,200,000 (Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, New Jersey, Indiana, Maryland, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska)

PAC 12 68,700,000 (California, Arizona, Washington, Utah, Colorado, Oregon)

Big 12 41,000,000 (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, West Virginia)

Even though the ACC has the largest population footprint, and would not be impacted if one state left the conference, their numbers are horrendous from what @Thiefery posted.

ACC 80,000,000 if they lost New York
B1G 74,000,000 if they lost Pennsylvania
SEC 71,000,000 if they lost Texas

The ACC, SEC, and B1G would not be adversely affected if they lost their largest populated state.

If the schools of California left the PAC 12, the PAC 12 would be fine because no one watches anyway. the footprint would be 28,700,000 without California

If State of Texas ever left the Big 12, the Big 12 is dead. The footprint would be 12,000,000 without Texas

Not sure why the numbers for the 2018 season are being used, when 2019 are available. I believe Oregon had about 49 million viewers for 2019. (For comparison's sake, Texas had about 37M)

California and the NE area are just better in other sports. I can see why a lot of fans in those areas would put CFB on the backburner
