Interesting trade idea from Cowherd....Balzers play the Sixers and Celtics against each other and eventually end up with Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and picks for Dame.

Dame is getting old, though...

C's literally just got bit by a megamite PG with defensive limitations that got old in a hurry.

... Brown being out obviously weighs in... but the problem is bigger than that... and it's killing our team offense.

We're a slow team that doesn't shoot well... and our record reflects that fact.

But my guess is he’s looking at it more like a McCollum/dame where it’s the only way to shake up the roster situation.

Summer of 2023 they have loads of money that can come off the books

They won’t have cap space but they’ll have the full mle.

Or they can trade those expiring deals.

The guy I want is kenrich Williams at okc

I said he should’ve been the guy in the kemba deal.

Maybe kill two birds with one stone by sending them hernan in a deal as well with some picks and maybe their stash from this past draft

No way on trading with Portland, IMO... C's are not gonna trade Brown for McCollum, and the C's are not gonna trade for another aging PG.

No, I meant it’s a similar reason why Portland is trading one.

After 30 games, the Celtics are hanging at a mediocre .500 record (15-15).

It feels like no questions have been answered about this team... good or bad. The amount of guys in-and-out of the line-up on any given night, and in particular the extended injury to Jaylen Brown, just put a fog over the whole picture.

the Celtics could be the 3 seed or finish 10th in the conference. Neither would surprise me.

how many teams in the entire NBA have a 1-2 punch like Tatum and Brown? not that many.

it just seems like something if missing on that team. Smart and Williams are not bad 3rd and 4th guys either.

Lonzo ball would’ve been amazing here. But the other option is a bigger stretch 4.

Tough to call anything a "bad loss" when we've got a ton of guys out, too... but last night @ Minnesota is a game we've got to find a way to win... the Twolves were really devistated with their top guys being out.

Again, it's tough to even reasonably evaluate this team because of all the flux and missing pieces on any given night... but sinking into negative W/L territory certainly isn't good.

Aside from all the good reasons you list, no Schroder means more fast PP... which is a great thing.

PP’s…existence means that you can afford to deal Schroeder and take a longer term focus.
