He's gonna be in the Hall of Fame for sure.

Unpopular Opinion: I hate that we spent money on CC this year. Didn't really contribute anything to the team. Highest ERA since 2015, barely got 100 IP out of him, averaged 1 SO an inning. Didn't contribute in the postseason. That $8 mill could've been used elsewhere. But that's just my opinion and one that seems to be in the minority of most baseball fans. Nothing new lol.

I voted no, but it honestly wouldn't bother me if he gets in. Classic compiler, not really superb at anything, but if they put Harold freaking Baines in the HOF, Sabathia can get in.

I think those are two very different types of compilers. Baines was a DH/RF that only finished in the top 10 in his league in OPS three times (and never finished higher than 6th) and has a career 121 OPS+ and under 40 WAR. Sabathia finished in the top 10 in ERA eight times and had a five year run where he threw 230+ innings. Sabathia finished in the top 10 in WAR six years in a row while Baines never finished in the top 10 in his own league. Sabathia did have some pretty meh seasons before and after, but he had an actual peak where you could say he was one of the best pitchers in the game. Baines was very seldom among the best hitters in his own league, much less baseball. I'd say Baines was like the Jack Morris of hitters.

Always been nothing but class...I would put him in for longevity. Difficult to throw that hard for that long and his stats aren't off the charts or anything...but shit they put other guys in way way worse than him. I think he deserves to get in.

I think I would put him in before Jack Morris ... not sure if I would vote for him (definitely not a first year).

My guess is the Yankees brought him back for one more year so he could get his 3,000th K wearing pinstripes.

pretty amazing that Sabathia led the NL in complete games in 2008 despite only pitching half a season there

Fantastic. Look at what it brought us production-wise. Completely hate the decision to bring him back.
