Still nope.

Impressive longevity (especially considering how washed up he looked about 10 years ago), but was never really elite. His 2005 CYA was a travesty, Santana was better by virtually every metric (save for wins and losses, but Colon had better run support than Santana). I don't think his case is much that much better than the likes of Jack Morris/Dennis Martinez.

No.

And if Bonds and co are being held out due to PED use(which I don't agree with BTW), then Colon should too even if his numbers did warrant HOF consideration.

I don't think Colon belongs in the HOF. Sure he was the last player to play for the Montral Expos plus the stats he accumulated in his career and hitting his first HR at 42 years old, but that's not enough for him to be enshrined in Cooperstown.

I think that was the last really bad voting year for the Cy Young.

stat-wise i don't think so, but he's a latin-born player, and that might garner him some more votes

Jack Morris and Dennis Martinez both have better cases IMO.

Red Ruffing has the highest career ERA for a starter in the Hall at 3.85 or so. I don't see anyone being added that will change that.

No. Colon is just a compiler with no real dominant period during his career.

Mark Buehrle has a better career ERA, WHIP, 214 wins in 4 less seasons that Colon, a world series ring, a no-hitter and a perfect game to his resume. He does not belong in, nor is it even being discussed. Therefore, Colon doesn't even deserve consideration either.

Maybe a better question for this thread is, "Will he make it to year two?" Basically, will he get the 5% required to remain on the ballot for his seasons year?
